Graduate Student Guide

Graduate Students in the Forest

This guide outlines the University's requirements and the School of Oceanography's policies and procedures for graduate students. The first section of this guide (see the menu at the right, broken into several separate sections) contains information specific to the Oceanography program, as well as general information about graduate study at UW.  The second section contains links and summaries of university-wide regulations concerning graduate study and degree requirements. The next two sections contain information specific to the Master's and Doctoral degrees in Oceanography.

Note that policies may be updated during your time within the School, and it is the responsibility of the student to keep up-to-date with requirements.

Annual Meeting

The Director and the Graduate Program Coordinator will schedule at least one open meeting with the graduate students each year.  This meeting is a chance for the students to discuss any topics or concerns about the program.  The Director and GPC will also use this meeting to provide updates on any changes to the curriculum or policies.

Individual students are welcome to meet with the GPC and Director throughout the year to discuss any concerns or issues.  Students should contact them through email to request and schedule a meeting.
