Merry Christmas from the middle of the Pacific Ocean!
Today I woke up and put on my Christmas cat shirt (matching with my bestie Denise of course). We sat outside for a while to enjoy the sun then at 4pm we started our festivities. The Christmas Carnival was a 3-event competition, and the winner got a special prize. The first event was “pin the red nose on the reindeer.” Kelsy won that event! Next up was the “bean bag toss.” Everyone did pretty well, except Denise. The finale event was the egg toss. One partner would stand on the second story of the ship and the other partner would catch the egg below. The Bryan/Allison team tied the Max/Alex team in that event. After we cleaned up all the eggs that splattered on the deck, we went inside to announce the winner. In third place was me! Second place was Sidney Brooks, and our winner was Bryan Thomas! His award was a 3D printed version of the R/V Thomas G. Thompson. To wrap up our evening, we went inside for a fabulous Christmas dinner! Overall, it was a Christmas to remember. We didn’t have our families or snow but celebrating on a ship in the middle of the ocean was once in a lifetime.
