Two Year Course Plan

The following is a possible sequence of courses for the Oceanography B. Sc. degree for a two-year compressed junior and senior year (suitable for transfer students, or those switching to the ocean major after their first two years).

It is assumed that students are coming in with full STEM preparation (including a year of calculus and physics) and introductory courses in oceanography and geology.  Contact the student advisor to discuss options for these courses that can be taken during the summer prior to your junior year.  Students that lack some of the basic science and math preparation should consider the 2 years + Fall Qtr plan, or completing their degree in 3 years.

While scheduling of electives is flexible, most Oceanography courses are offered only once per year and so attention should be paid to the way they are scheduled below.
