Where are we? When are we?
So here we are at the equator and at the international date line. Is it summer or winter? Are we in the eastern or western hemisphere? The north or south Pacific? Is it Sunday or Monday? Well, that all depends on which part of the ship you are on. We are simultaneously in all these places at the same time (and at a different time). On the port side of the boat it is Monday morning, but on the starboard side of the boat it is Sunday mid-day. Its winter at the head of the boat, but summer on the fantail.

Kathy, Jenn, Isabel and Rick in four different parts of the world all at the same time. 3-6-23 0N x 180W
Kathy, Jenn, Isabel and Rick in four different parts of the world all at the same time. 3-6-23 0N x 180W. Kathy is in the western north Pacific in winter. Rick is also in the north Pacific in winter, but east of the date line, so he is enjoying Monday while Kathy is still in Sunday. Jenn and Isable are in the southern hemisphere where it is summer. Jenn is in the east (west of the date line) and Isabel is in the west (east of the date line). Confused yet?
