Two School of Oceanography alumni, Michelle Lee and Susan Merle, recently participated in a research expedition to map the internal anatomy of the Axial Seamount.  The expedition was featured in a New York Times article.  The Axial Seamount caldera is an area of focus for the OOI Region Cabled Array, which is operated by the University of Washington.
