Dr. Jody Deming Receives the APECS International Mentorship Award
Dr. Jody W. Deming was awarded the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists' (APECS) international mentorship award in September 2024. This award recognizes the efforts of outstanding mentors within the international polar scientific community. Jody's nomination was spearheaded and supported by her staff, post-docs and graduate students (both past and present) who all wished for the compassion she brings to her "ecosystem", as she calls it, to be recognized.
Congratulations Dr. Amy Wyeth!
Amy passed her final PhD exam on September 19. She was advised by Danny Grunbaum and Julie Keister. We want to thank Amy for all her community work. She was one of the recipients of our 2023 Mentorship Award and her contributions to our DEI Committee have been invaluable. We wish her the very best in her new role leading the development of the biological monitoring program for the State of Maine, Department of Marine Resources.
