Your name and pronouns:
Corinne Selethos (she/her)
Senior thesis title and brief description:
Evolution of an Agulhus ring. I deployed six ARGO floats, that were made in the lab I work in, inside an Agulhus ring to remain within it for its lifetime. Satellite data of sea surface height was used to track the ring. I created isotherm profiles across the ring of temperature and salinity.
What was your best memory from the school of Oceanography?
Making my friends and going out on research cruises. My other favorite was working in the UW ARGO float lab for the last two years. I have loved every second of it and feel prepared to enter the workforce.
What was your favorite oceanography class and why?
Either Evan Solomon’s ocean geochemistry class or Susan Huatala’s ocean physics course. They are both amazing teachers and that was my favorite quarter at UW. They go out of their way to make their classes enjoyable while also challenging.
What has been your go to way to connect to your classmates remotely?
Texting and social media
Favorite non-ocean body of water?
My family’s lake on the farm I grew up on.
