Atticus Carter and Kathy Qi Make Data Waves at the OOI Data Labs Workshop
Atticus Carter and Kathy Qi, two of our exceptional student instructors, made a significant impact at the OOI Data Lab Design workshop held in Princeton, New Jersey this past weekend. Their contributions were particularly noteworthy, as they impressed faculty instructors with their innovative ideas and deep understanding of data literacy concepts. The pair's expertise in developing Python-based activities for novice programmers was especially valuable in creating accessible, scaffolded exercises that guide students through OOI data visualization and interpretation.
Coding Help with Dr. Wing-Ho Ko
Anyone in our Oceanography community who needs coding help can drop in to the Ocean Science Building, Room 418 on Tuesdays: 10:00am-12:00pm and Fridays: 1:00-3:00pm.
New Wellness Rooms in OSB/OCN and MSB
The School has new wellness rooms open. Located in OSB/OCN 504 and MSB 312, they are equipped with cozy seating, mini fridges, and can be locked for privacy. They are available as lactation stations, for reflection and prayer, and space for a mental health break.
